Howdy Homemade Grand Opening Weekend
We are filled with gratitude after an incredible Grand Opening weekend at Howdy Homemade Ice Cream in Lee’s Summit! Howdy Homemade Ice Cream is a dream two years in the making. The community’s energy and support have been incredible. Lines extended out the door nearly all weekend, and the Heroes behind the counter were thrilled to see so many people eager to experience Amazing Ice Cream, Served by Amazing People. Local musician Carl Cherrito, Power Percussion, brought the celebration to life with phenomenal live music, and Highland Dairy made a huge statement by parking their giant signature cow statue in the parking lot, which became an instant photo favorite!
Howdy Homemade Ice Cream is more than amazing ice cream, it’s a movement. We are changing the way society views individuals with unique abilities, creating a more inclusive community for all. Our mission is to create equitable, meaningful jobs for remarkable individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities—our heroes—who bring the joy of amazing ice cream to the heart of our community.
Whether you joined us for opening weekend or plan to visit soon, we hope you’ll stop by to experience Howdy Homemade for yourself. Meet our amazing Heroes, learn more about our mission, and taste the sweetest inclusion in town!
